What is the burial benefit
The burial benefit is a one-time payment to the person or organization that paid for the funeral. Anyone who incurred the costs may receive it, regardless of relationship to the deceased: spouse, relative, friend, or funeral agency under contract.
The payment is not subject to income tax and is not counted when calculating other benefits. It compensates expenses already paid, not an advance — so keep receipts, the agency contract, and payment confirmations.
In Adler and Sochi the procedure is the same across the region: apply to SFR, the deceased's employer, or the military commissariat — depending on the deceased's status.
